This mouse adaptor holds the mouse head by means of a palate bar and nose clamp without ear bars. If offers vertical requisition to make the head level or at a certain angle. The skull of mice and neonatal rats is relatively thinner than that of an adult animal, so that the use of ear bars can deform the skull and effect the animals breathing. But this way of holding the animals head without bars compromises the stability and therewith requires more experience of the operator.
